Try and catch me

I was tagged by the Evelyn. She who has been this Pied Piper leading me toward magic again.

It's not that magic ever left me. I just spent a long time dealing with aspects from the suit of swords: mental anguish, self-created, mind-centered, illusional.

From Monk at Work, the original challenge:
If you’re not currently pushing the envelope of your intellectual horizons… or if you’re feeling a staleness in your life that you wouldn’t mind giving the ol’ heave-ho to… then I invite you to pick something that you’ve always been curious about, and dive into it with all the passion of a two-year-old on a playground.
Since I think Evelyn and my life have kept me at the edge of my envelope, I'll accept the invitation:
Write a post about your “learning edge” and what you’re into these days. Feel free to mention any books you’re reading, classes you’re taking, people you’re learning from or collaborating with, etc. Tell us about the gems you’re picking up, the fun you’re having, etc., especially if they’re shifting the way you look at what you do.
I can't even begin to name just one thing that is peaking my interest.

  • How the flowers of plants are brightest at dusk: glowing with inner neon.
  • The rustling of wind in trees.
  • Admiring the gardens and yards that are loved and attended to.
  • How bodywork energizes me while also reminding me to take care of my own body.
  • The class on pranayama I'll be taking Sunday.
  • Discussions of flow and allowing and trusting the Universe I have on a weekly basis with a recent reconnection of friendship.
  • The challenges of meeting my son fairly as he grows and not overwhelming him with "the rules."
  • Trying to remember to be in my life instead of looking out at it from the side of judgment.
  • Filling every memory of shame and hurt with love, hoping for a then/now transformation.
I am at work on a lot. Challenged daily. Have little time for reading books as I make another mustard sandwich for the boy or snap together spaceships or fold airplanes or ask him (sometimes not so kindly) to give me some space or listen without judgment while he works through his anger at me for not letting him get away with hitting the cat.

I have been away from your blog for too long.

I enjoyed this list.

I seem to have many of the same challenges as you.

Thanks for jumping in on the Learning Edge meme... I'm posting an update post today, linking to your blog and this post, so others can find it.

Quite a few people have jumped in so far, and what people are learning is exciting to see, although I'd say I'd probably have to give you the award for the most original list.

Mustard sandwiches? That's a new one for me, too. :-)

Thanks again!
